GOLDEN, Colo. – The 22nd-ranked St. Edward's Men's Soccer team battled a tough Colorado Mines squad to a 1-1 tie Sunday afternoon at Stermole Field.
 
Freshman DYLAN ARMSTRONG scored his first goal for St. Edward's in the 65^th minute. Just over 30 seconds later, the Hilltoppers committed a foul in their defensive end. The Orediggers received a penalty kick and the game was it all knotted up, 1-1.
 
In a game that featured seven cards issued, St. Edward's had five players receive yellow card.
 
The Orediggers outshot St. Edward's, 20-11, but eight of the shots taken by Colorado Mines were blocked by Hilltopper defenders.

"The guys worked really hard against a good Colorado Mines team," St. Edward's Head Coach Brian Young said. "It's been an excellent four-game test for the team against some quality regional opponents, and we have an idea of where we are as a team in the early part of the season. We know we can improve. The work rate has to remain the same, and we need to improve in certain areas. The players will get some rest, and we look forward to preparing for Huston-Tillotson on Friday."
