TURNING POINT
-In the 16th minute, St. Edward's drew a foul on Dallas Baptist. On the free kick, the Patriots headed the ball out of the box. Junior SAMUEL JACKSON sent a shot back towards goal, but a Patriot defender blocked it. Junior JULIAN SANCHEZ collected it and ripped a shot through the crowd to the left side of the net for a 1-0 lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Right out of the gate in the second half, senior JOSH TAYLOR was determined to put the game away. In the 50th minute, Taylor sent a shot wide right. Just two minutes later, Taylor made a run up the left side. With the Patriot goalkeeper off his line, the senior sent a low shot to the far post that was true. That gave St. Edward's a 2-0 lead.
-The Hilltopper defense locked things up from there. The back line only allowed one shot the rest of the way.

QUOTE FROM HEAD COACH BRIAN YOUNG
"In NCAA Division II Soccer, every game is important, so we can't afford to drop any more games. We did some good things out there, but some of our counter attacking was a bit sloppy.  We have a couple of young guys who were playing on the back line, and they stepped up in a big way."
