GOODWELL, Okla. – KHIANI CLARK scorched Panhandle State for 23 points, nine rebounds and four blocks Monday afternoon as St. Edward's women's basketball defeated the Aggies 58-50.
 
The Hilltoppers' next leading scorers were SHAKERA BARNES, LEXI CUNNINGHAM and LEXI FATHEREE with eight points each. Barnes also dished out nine assists and grabbed eight rebounds.
 
St. Edward's (6-5, 2-0 Heartland) has won four straight regular-season games and five straight overall with its win over NCAA Division I member Texas State. Panhandle State falls to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in the Heartland Conference.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• A tightly contested first quarter was capped off by a layup from Barnes to tie the game at 11.
• St. Edward's closed the second period on a 6-0 run behind Fatheree and Clark to take a 26-20 lead into halftime.
• The Aggies scored 22 points in the third quarter to take a 42-40 lead.
• Clark scored 14 points in the final period to clinch the Hilltoppers' victory.

 
HILLTOPPER NOTES

• The Hilltoppers' eight blocks are tied for second-most in a single game in program history.
• Clark's 23 points were a season high. She has scored in double digits in five straight games.
• The last time St. Edward's won at least four games in a row was the 2014-15 season (Dec. 13-Jan. 3).
• Head coach J.J. Riehl has never lost to Panhandle State (7-0).
