-With just seconds remaining in the first half, St. Edward's used a three-man game inside the Roadrunner penalty box, working the ball around and past the Metro State goalkeeper. Senior

PARKER FYFE picked up the assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-With the goal just before halftime, St. Edward's used that momentum to completely shut down the Roadrunners in the second half.
-After only holding a 6-5 advantage in shots in the first half, St. Edward's buckled down and outshot Metro State, 9-3, in the second frame.
-The Hilltoppers put the game away in 70
th minute when junior
GRANT MOBLEY drove down the right side to the end line and cut a pass back to Armstrong. The forward was true with his shot for a 2-0 lead.
SEU HIGHLIGHTS
-While only playing 36 minutes, Armstrong had a hand in both goals as he collected an assist on the first goal and notched his first goal of the season for the second tally.
-Taylor scored the game winner for St. Edward's. Coupled with last season, Taylor has four goals with two of them deciding the game.
-
KEVIN LEIB and the defense notched a shutout in this season opener. Last season the Hilltoppers led the nation in team shutout percentage, while only allowing 10 goals in 20 matches.
