THE RUNDOWN
DALLAS, Texas – St. Edward's University's volleyball team got back on the winning track in Heartland Conference play with a 25-23, 25-9, 25-18 win at Dallas Baptist Thursday at the Burg Center.
SEU's (13-7, 3-3) defense played a key role holding DBU (6-11, 2-4) to just 32 kills, and the Hilltoppers out-blocked the Patriots 9-1.
KATE HENDRIX led a balanced effort offensively for SEU with nine kills while
KATIE MARTIN had eight. The Hilltoppers hit .222 and held DBU to a .092 hitting mark.
After beginning league play with a 2-0 mark, SEU righted the ship after dropping three straight to improve to .500 heading into an off-date Saturday.
HIGHLIGHTS

KATE HENDRIX led SEU with nine kills on a .304 hitting mark.

MADDIE MIKSCH led the Hilltoppers with 21 digs.

MORGAN BECKHAM cracked the top 10 on SEU's career leaders list for digs; her fifth dig Thursday helped her pass Kristina Favila (1,555, 1990-93), and she finished with 14 Thursday to give her 1,565 career digs.

JULIA HARTLEY recorded the 700th dig of her career with her seventh and final dig of the match at DBU Thursday.

MIKAYLA PARKER had three kills in the match; her second kill gave her 250 for her career.
• Parker's six blocks gave the junior 23 career matches with five blocks or more.
• Seven of SEU's 13 wins this season have come via the sweep.
