Dustdevils Deal No. 15 MSOC First Heartland Loss

LAREDO, Texas –
The No. 15-ranked St. Edward's University men's soccer team fell to Texas A&M-International Thursday as the Dustdevils scored in the 89' to steal a 2-1 victory.

In the first half, TAMIU (5-2-2, 4-2-1 HC) out shot the Hilltoppers (8-2-1, 5-1-1 HC), 5-2. JULIAN SANCHEZ managed an attempt in the 7' while GRANT MOBLEY took a header in the 34'. Despite out shooting SEU, the Dustdevils only put one first-half attempt on goal, which was stopped by Hilltopper goalkeeper WILLIAM TUFFIN.

JOHN-MATHEW BLAY-TOFEY gave St. Edward's a 1-0 lead in the 65' on an assist from RUBEN GONZALEZ. However, less than a minute later, the Dustdevils evened the score on a goal from Alan Rivera.

Texas A&M-International scored the game-winning goal in the 89' minute on a free kick from Michael Iskander. A shot from DYLAN ARMSTRONG with 65 seconds remaining was saved by TAMIU.
