THEY SAID IT
SEU Head Coach J.J. Riehl on her team's performance in Lubbock …
"Obviously, I don't think the scoreboard reflects how well we played at times today. Our defensive effort was really, really good. We were absolutely undersized, under everything. At the center position, we were giving up a good five inches, six inches at times, and we fought and really made their lives difficult. They had to earn things. I thought we were more physical than them. I thought we did a great job on the boards. I thought we did a great job as far as not letting them get out in transition and get easy buckets. I think we did everything that we wanted to do. And, I think for us the disappointing part was that we didn't shoot well. I thought we executed our stuff on offense very well, and just didn't knock down open shots. Probably some of that is the size, the athleticism and the pace of the game. But, if there was one area where we were hoping we would be a little better, it'd be the offensive end of things. I feel really good about where we are, about the preseason, about the strides that we've made the last couple of weeks, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to head up and play two really good RMAC schools next weekend and see where we are with things."
