THE RUNDOWN
LUBBOCK, Texas – After the lead changed 14 times in the first 28 minutes, Lubbock Christian took over midway through the second half and never looked back in a 97-83 win over St. Edward's Thursday at the Rip Griffin Center.
SEU (13-6, 3-4) led 44-41 at half and held small leads for nearly eight minutes in the second half before LCU's (7-10, 3-3) Ja'Qualyn Gilbreath hit a 3-pointer with 12:11 remaining to give the Chaps a 57-56 lead, and the home team would never trail again.
LCU won its sixth-straight game over St. Edward's, and the Chaps got 23 points from Isaac Arsat. In the losing effort,
LANDON GOESLING scored 19 points,
SEAN WATKINS scored 15 points and dished seven assists and
JAMES TAYLOR had 11 for the Hilltoppers.

"First time all year I thought we played a little selfish. Can't do that to beat a quality team on the road. Lubbock is so well coached that you have to be locked in for 40 minutes. We weren't. Doesn't get easier for us. We need to move on to St Mary's."
