THEY SAID IT
SEU Head Coach J.J. Riehl on fighting through the slow start …
"Definitely didn't get out of the gates very well. I thought we were pretty flat and lethargic. We made some substitutions, and I thought the second group really brought us energy and kind of slowed the momentum. And, then the start of the second quarter, I thought we just settled in. Defensively, we started getting turnovers, creating steals, and getting to the other end and getting some easy baskets. We were able to score and get in our full-court press and create tempo and play the game the way we wanted to play it. I was pleased because we did not start well, so I was pleased that we fought and were tough enough to get back in and swing the momentum back to our way and never looked back.

Riehl on Panfili's performance …
"Brooke was huge for us today. She had a 45-second span in the second quarter where she single handedly got us back the lead. She was fantastic, brought energy, had confidence, made shots, got steals, and it was just a great game for Brooke. I'm proud of her and really happy for her."

Riehl on FAIREN SUTTON's contribution …
"FAIREN SUTTON was huge for us today and none of it will show in the box score. She was a great leader, made others better and just played selflessly."

Riehl on the upcoming homestand …
"We are just focused on staying in the present and not getting ahead of ourselves, just getting better a little bit every day, continuing to focus on our effort, energy and toughness. Really excited to get home and have a chance to create a little momentum."
