CANYON, Texas – A late, second half goal kept the Hilltoppers' upset bid from coming to fruition as #17 West Texas A&M eked-out a 1-0 win Thursday.
 
SEU's defense was outstanding, logging 70 minutes of scoreless action before the Buffaloes were able to net the game winner. Louis Gueye, assisted by Callum Challinor and Stefan Andjelic, scored from 15-yards out in the 71st minute.
 
St. Edward's trailed 16-6 in shots but only gave up one corner kick on the night. WILLIAM TUFFIN posted a season-high nine saves despite suffering the loss.
 
SEU falls to 6-7-1 on the year and 5-5-1 in the Heartland Conference while WTAMU improves to 11-2-2 overall and 8-2-1 in conference. The Hilltoppers remain on the road to face Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, October 20 at 2 pm.
