HILLTOPPERS FALL TO GORILLAS 59-42

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - St. Edward's Women's Basketball was held to their lowest point total of the season to wrap up their second game of the Las Vegas Hoopla Tuesday evening, falling 59-42 to Pittsburg State.

It was tight throughout the first quarter as the Gorillas took a slight two point advantage into the second quarter, 19-17.

SEU was held to just nine points in the second quarter but matched the defensive intensity of PSU and trailed by just four at the half, 30-26.

St. Edward's posted just five points in the third quarter and trailed by 13, 44-31 heading into the fourth and were unable to make up enough ground, falling 59-42.

ISABEL HERNANDEZ led with 11 points while MARYAM WILCHER chipped in ten. ABBY HOPPER grabbed 12 rebounds and two steals in the loss.

St. Edward's drops to 8-3 on the year and breaks for the holidays before returning to action in Colorado to face Western State Colorado on Saturday, December 29 at 1 pm MT.
