THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas – Freshman guard BROOKE PANFILI recorded a team-high 16 points Thursday night, but St. Edward's University fell 63-50 vs. Oklahoma Christian at the RCC.

Panfili's hit 4-of-7 shots from behind the 3-point arc and ISABEL HERNANDEZ filled the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in the loss for SEU. OCU's Addy Clift dropped 25 points behind five three-pointers and Katie Mayo scored 12 to round out the double-digit scorers for the Eagles.

The Hilltoppers (10-11, 4-5) started the game strong with a 20-point first quarter, but could only tally six in the second as they trailed the Eagles (6-14, 2-6) 35-26 at intermission. Although OCU outscored SEU by just four points in the second half, they controlled the second half as their lead grew to as much as 20 in the fourth quarter.

• St. Edward's is 9-7 in the all-time series with Oklahoma Christian.
• Panfili has six career games with double-digit scoring; six in 2017-18.
• Panfili's 14^th point was the 150^th of the freshman's season.

Head Coach J.J. Riehl initial thoughts…
"We didn't make shots. I mean they play that zone and they pack it in and it takes all strategy and coaching out of it. You can't run a play to get a quick shot and get into a rhythm. You got to move the ball and make shots. We missed open shots and they made open shots. I think, you know, it's really that simple. We could talk about letting Cliff go off and all of those things, but still, if we hold a team to 63 points and get as many open shots as we got, we should be capable of winning the game. So, I think it really boils down to that."
