FORT SMITH, Ark. – No. 21-ranked UAFS jumped out early and never looked back with a 79-63 win over St. Edward's Saturday at the Stubblefield Center. The Lions (21-4, 9-4) jumped out to an 11-2 lead early and never relinquished control to force a season split with the Hilltoppers.
DORIAN LOPEZ scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had three steals to lead SEU (15-10, 5-8) in the loss, while
LANDON GOESLING had a game-high 19 points. UAFS' Ladarius Coleman matched Lopez's double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds while Darrion Strong-Moore had 15 points and DaVaunta Thomas added 14.
The Lions scored 48 points in the paint and shot 49.2 percent from the floor in the contest, while defensively holding the Hilltoppers 25 points below their season scoring average. In addition, UAFS limited SEU to just a 34.3 percent effort from the floor.
