Rogers State Completes Sweep of SB, 3-1

THE RUNDOWN

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State (22-4, 7-0 HC) swept the weekend series Saturday with a 3-1 win over St. Edward's (2-20, 2-9 HC) at the Diamond Sports Complex. Tailee Reding picked up the win in the circle with four innings of scoreless relief and added a two-run home run to help the Hillcats in the victory.
 
SEU's LAUREN GARZA hit her second home run of the season, a solo shot in the top of the second, to give the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead, however Reding answered of the third with a two-run homer to give the Hillcats the lead. Then, she proceeded to allow just two hits over the final four innings to pick up the win for the Hillcats.
 
RSU is 5-0 vs. St. Edward's this season.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
• LAUREN GARZA went 2-for-3 at the plate for her third multiple-hit game of the season.
• Garza's second home run of the season tied her for the team lead in the top of the second.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
St. Edward's welcomes Texas A&M-International Tuesday to Austin for a Heartland Conference twinbill set for a Noon start at Diane Daniels Field.
