THE RUNDOWN

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 11-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce Lions swept a doubleheader and completed a halted game from Feb. 7 to walk away from Diane Daniels Field Wednesday with three wins over the St. Edward's softball team.

After four innings complete Feb. 7 in game two of a doubleheader in Commerce, the Lions led SEU 2-0 before the game was halted due to weather. The two teams elected to complete the game prior to Wednesday's regularly scheduled doubleheader in Austin. Neither team scored in the final three innings of play and the Lions held on for a 2-0 win.
 
In the doubleheader, the Lions (22-3) run-ruled SEU (3-24) 14-1 in game one and 12-0 in game two. Mariah Jameyson combined for 11 RBIs and three home runs on the day to lead Texas A&M-Commerce while Selena Rima and Katie Dean picked up wins in the circle, respectively.
 
SEU's SARA MACHADO scored the only run of the day for the Hilltoppers in a game one loss with her first collegiate home run, a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
• SHELBY JANDA combined for three hits on the day, the first of which was the 40th of her career.
• Janda went 2-for-3 in game one of the doubleheader for her third multi-hit game of the season and sixth of her career.
• SARA MACHADO hit her first collegiate home run, a solo shot in the bottom of the second inning of game one of the doubleheader, and it was also her 10th career RBI.
• ASHLEY NASSY's hit in the halted game completion from Feb. 7 was the 20th of her career.
• In the halted game completion, Kari Rodriguez finished 2-for-2 at the plate which gave her four multi-hit games on the season and eight in her career.
• DEJA LEE went 2-for-2 at the plate in game one of the doubleheader, and that was her second game of the season with multiple hits.
• VALERIE BRANT finished the halted game 2-for-3 at the plate, which gave the freshman three multiple-hit games on the season.

STAT OF THE GAME
8 – Texas A&M-Commerce catcher Mariah Jameyson set a single-game school record with eight RBIs vs. SEU in the first game of the DH including a grand slam and a three-run homer in the same inning.

St. Edward's takes Texas Woman's on the road Wednesday in Denton with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
