THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas – It took 10 innings and three hours and 28 minutes, but Oklahoma Christian outlasted St. Edward's 11-8 Saturday at Diane Daniels Field. A four-run top-of-the-10^th inning propelled the Eagles (19-16, 9-7) to a series sweep over the Hilltoppers (3-29, 3-14).
 
OC swept a doubleheader March 4 in Oklahoma City over SEU, swept Friday's twinbill in Austin and finished off the Hilltoppers Saturday in Heartland Conference play to go 5-0 on the season vs. SEU.
 
SEU's DEJA LEE scored on an error and KAYLA APPLEBY hit an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score at five. Then, in the seventh and eighth innings, each team scored one run in its at bats to extend the game further. After a scoreless ninth, the Eagles finally broke it open off SEU reliever OLIVIA BURDICK, who was in her ninth inning of relief, by scoring on two RBI singles, an RBI walk and a run-scoring groundout to increase the lead to 11-7.

LAUREN GARZA's two-out RBI double in the bottom of the 10^th was all the Hilltoppers could muster in the bottom of the 10^th. Madison Nordyke picked up the win for the Eagles in the circle while driving in three runs offensively to lead OC.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
• Kari Rodriguez hit her third home run of the season, went 2-for-5 at the plate and scored the 20^th run of her career.
• Rodriguez has 10 career multiple-hit games and six in 2018.
• KAYLA APPLEBY's RBI single in the bottom of the sixth gave her 70 career RBIs.
• Appleby went 2-for-5 for her 25^th career multiple-hit game.
• SARA MACHADO went 3-for-6 at the plate for her sixth multiple hit game of the season.
• SAMI WILLIAMS was 1-for-6 at the plate, but her one hit was the 80^th of her career, and her two RBIs gave her 12 career games with two or more (three this season).
• LAUREN GARZA extended her hitting streak to five games with a 3-for-6 outing at the plate that included an RBI and a double; she has six multiple-hit game this season.
