THE RUNDOWN

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Christian edged St. Edwards in both games of a doubleheader Monday at Tom Heath Field as the Eagles (12-11, 4-4) took game one 2-1 and the second, 3-1 over the Hilltoppers (2-17, 2-6).

REAGAN CARTER and OLIVIA BURDICK put together two strong pitching performances for SEU in game one and two, respectively. However, St. Edward's was only able to muster a run apiece in each game.

SARA MACHADO doubled home SHELBY JANDA in game one to give SEU a 1-0 lead in the second inning of game one. The lead stood until the bottom of the sixth when OC's Kayla Eichler and Hunter Strickland had run-scoring hits to give the Eagles the win.

After Burdick surrendered three runs on three hits in the bottom of the first, the Hilltopper starter settled down and only allowed four more hits over the next five innings and didn't allow another run. KATHRYN CONNELLY tripled home DEJA LEE in the top of the third, but that would be SEU's only run.
