THE RUNDOWN

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State swept a doubleheader Friday at the Diamond Sports Complex over St. Edwards, winning game one 6-0 and game two 11-3 in six innings.
 
The Hillcats improved to 21-4 on the season and 6-0 in league play while SEU fell to 2-20 on the year and dropped to 2-8 in league play.
 
RSU's Alex Brake threw a complete-game shutout in game one with a 3-hitter, and the Hillcats' Danelle Day and Rylee DeLozier drove in two runs apiece.
 
In game two, SEU took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third with Kari Rodriguez's three-run homer, however, RSU knotted the score at three in the bottom of the third before the Hillcats scored eight runs in the final three innings.
 
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
• SHELBY JANDA went 1-for-3 at the plate to extend her on-base streak to six games.
 
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
• Kari Rodriguez hit a 3-run home run, her second of the season, in the top of the third inning, and her three RBIs gave her 20 on the season.
• It was Rodriguez's sixth multi-RBI game of her career and third of the season.
• Rodriguez extended her hitting and on-base streaks to seven games.
• LAUREN GARZA went 2-for-3 at the plate for her second multiple-hit game of the season.

St. Edward's concludes its three-game set with Rogers State Saturday at Noon on the road.
