THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas – The St. Edward's softball team stopped an 11-game losing streak by winning game two of its doubleheader with Lubbock Christian Friday at Diane Daniels Field. The Hilltoppers (4-32, 4-16) fell in game one to the Lady Chaps (23-11, 12-8) before taking a 6-2 victory to the split the Heartland Conference doubleheader.

In game one Monique Francois tossed six innings for LCU allowing just one unearned run in the second inning, and the Lady Chaps' Lindzi Clemmer led offensively with three RBIs. An error in the field in the top of the fourth inning by SEU allowed a five-run spot for the Lady Chaps, in which just one was earned to Hilltoppers starter
KEELY FRAZIER, and LCU never looked back.

With the score knotted at two in the second game, Kari Rodriguez's only hit of the doubleheader was her fourth home run in the last five games for the Hilltoppers. The solo shot was the sophomore's sixth of the season and sparked a four-run bottom of the fifth that also included three runs scored on LCU's errors.
OLIVIA BURDICK allowed just two runs in the first four innings of work, and
KEELY FRAZIER took over in the fifth and allowed just one hit in three innings of scoreless relief to pick up her second victory of the season.
