AUSTIN, Texas – A goal less than three minutes into the contest was enough to keep SEU perfect in conference as they defeated Texas A&M International 1-0 Saturday afternoon.
CAROLINE KIRSCHNER's crossing ball into the middle of the box found MORGAN PALMER who slid it past TAMIU's keeper and into the back of the net for the eventual game winner just two minutes and 55 seconds in.
Palmer's goal may have been the only one of the day for SEU but they had multiple opportunities as they led 17-3 in shots and 15-1 in corner kicks.
Keeper ANNABEL SWEENEY didn't see much action in goal but she did save the one shot she saw on the afternoon to record her third shutout of the season.
St. Edward's improves to 2-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the Heartland Conference. The Hilltoppers remain at home to face Lubbock Christian on Thursday, September 20 at 2 pm.
