AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's men's soccer controlled the tempo and battled the elements to keep their unbeaten streak at home alive, defeating UT Permian Basin 2-0 Thursday.
It was a physical game early as both teams aggressively attacked goal, but neither team was able to break the stalemate with just six shots in the frame. SEU broke the scoreless tie on their final shot of the half as
RUBEN GONZALEZ one-touched a shot off the volley from 25-yards out in the 44
th minute to put the Hilltoppers in the lead heading into halftime.

JEREMY BISCHOFF gave St. Edward's some breathing room, chipping in
DYLAN ARMSTRONG's corner from right of goal.
The Hilltoppers defense took over from there to record the shutout, their second of the season.
SEU led 13-6 in shots and 9-3 in corner kicks. Keeper
WILLIAM TUFFIN posted three saves, all in the second half, to earn the win.
St. Edward's improves to 3-3 on the year, 2-1 in the conference, and remain at home to host Lubbock Christian on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
