CLAREMORE, Okla. - Rogers State used three first half goals to defeat St. Edward's 4-0 Thursday evening.
RSU's first goal came in the tenth minute from just outside the box and added two more, one in the 29th minute and one in the 37th minute, to take a commanding lead at halftime, 3-0.
Despite good looks early in the second half the Hilltoppers were unable to cut into the deficit and Rogers State added one more in the 64th minute to put the comeback out of reach.
"We can't come out the way we did tonight again this year since it puts us in a massive hole," said Head Coach Brian Young. "Rogers punished us for the poor start. We have to see a response in our next match on Saturday."
RSU led 15-3 in shots and held SEU to without a corner kick. WILLIAM TUFFIN posted five saves in goal in the loss.
St. Edward's remains on the road to face Newman on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
