AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's had one of their toughest nights offensively but was able to pull out the win regardless, defeating Oklahoma Christian 64-57 Thursday afternoon. With the win, SEU extended their win streak to nine and moved to 15-1 on the year, 4-0 in Heartland Conference action.

Despite going on an 11-0 run and holding the Eagles to just nine first half field goals the Hilltoppers led by only 11 at halftime, 35-24. RYAN GARZA came off the bench to lead SEU in the frame with 11 points, going 4-7 from the floor and 3-6 from long range with two assists and three steals.

St. Edward's started the second half well but as the clock ticked under 12 minutes the Eagles were able to cut SEU's lead to only seven, 43-36.

OCU continued to chip away at the lead and pulled within two, 43-41 with 9:37 to go in the game before the Hilltoppers sprung back into action. The Eagles were able to hang close enough to keep it interesting but were never close enough to make a play for the lead as SEU closed out the game.

Garza led offensively with 17 points on 6-12 shooting from the floor, 5-10 from three point range. ASHTON SPEARS added 15 and LUCAS DORIA 12. DORIAN LOPEZ led the Hilltoppers on the glass with 12 rebounds including five offensive, as SEU lost the rebounding battle 49-44.

St. Edward's finally returns to the road after six-game home stand and will face Arkansas-Fort Smith on Thursday, January 17 at 7:30 pm in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
