AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's men's soccer scored three goals in the final 24 minutes of action to defeat the University of Texas Permian Basin 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers out-shot UTPB 13-1 in the first half but were unable to convert despite playing with one extra player due to a UTPB red card. It wasn't until the 67
th minute that SEU took control of the contest.
PARKER FYFE shot to the lower left corner, unassisted, to get St. Edward's rolling.
MICHALIS CLARK scored on
EDDIE VILLATORO's through ball in the 86
th minute to give SEU some breathing room and Fyfe followed with his second goal of the match just three minutes later to secure the 3-0 win for the Hilltoppers.
SEU led 26-2 in shots with 13 being on frame and led 6-1 in corner kicks. The Hilltoppers improve to 3-5-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in conference play. They return to action on Thursday, October 17, hosting Texas A&M International at 3 pm.
