AUSTIN – The 1-0 final did not accurately reflect the impressive performance the Hilltoppers used to secure their 10th win of the season, moving to 9-0-1 in the Lone Star Conference with a win over Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday afternoon. 

St. Edward's dominated the pace and possession of the game from the opening kick, holding A&M-Commerce to minimal looks. It was clear the Hilltoppers were just moments from getting the first goal of the game and did just that on a breakaway in the 20^th minute. INDIA WENTZ beat one defender and took a brilliant shot that was saved and punched toward the far post. After careening off the post, SARAH GUNDERSON beat the Lion defender to the ball and one-touched it into the back of the net to put the Hilltoppers up 1-0.

Despite multiple looks SEU was not able to secure the insurance goal, but the Hilltopper defense was as stout as usual as they closed out the match for the win. 

SEU led 17 to three in shots and 10-3 in corner kicks. 

St. Edward's heads to the game of the conference season next, facing league-leading DBU on Friday for a 5 pm kickoff.
