Men's soccer clinches fourth seed in upcoming LSC Tournament

Men's soccer to host Lubbock Christian in LSC Tournament first round


RICHARDSON – The St. Edward's men's soccer team will host a first-round Lone Star Conference Tournament game, the league office announced on Saturday. The Hilltoppers clinched the No. 4 seed and will host fifth-seeded Lubbock Christian at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Lewis-Chen Family Field in Austin. The game will air on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.

St. Edward's clinched the fourth seed after picking up a 3-2 win over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday in Edmond, Okla. FABIAN PALLARES scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute for SEU.

The Hilltoppers and Chaparrals met once this season. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 10 in Austin. JEREMY BISCHOFF headed in a corner-kick service just before the end fo the first half to give St. Edward's a 1-0 lead, but LCU answered in the 54th minute with the equalizer.

In their last postseason appearance, the Hilltoppers dropped a 1-0 decision at Newman last season. St. Edward's is seeking its first conference tournament title since 2016, when the Hilltoppers won the Heartland Conference championship. SEU also is attempting to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017.
