AUSTIN – The St. Edward's women's basketball team will host the LSC/RMAC Challenge this weekend at the Recreation and Convocation Center to open the 2019-20 season.
The Hilltoppers will welcome Colorado Christian, Colorado School of Mines and UAFS to the Hilltop for the two-day tournament. All games will air live on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network.

ABOUT THE HILLTOPPERS
Led by eighth-year head coach J.J. Riehl, St. Edward's welcomes back seven letter winners, including three starters, from last year's squad that finished with a 16-14 overall record and a 7-7 mark in the final season of the Heartland Conference.
The Hilltoppers played one exhibition contest in the preseason, dropping a 61-45 decision at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
DEIJAH BLANKS scored a team-high 27 points, while
SAMMIE DUFEK pulled down seven rebounds for SEU.
WELCOME TO THE HILLTOP
St. Edward's has added seven newcomers to the roster for the 2019-20 season, including four transfers. Three of the four transfers join the Hilltoppers from Division I programs –
HALEY BLANKINSHIP (Idaho),
DEIJAH BLANKS (UC Irvine) and
D'AVIYON MAGAZINE (Saint Peter's). The fourth transfer,
JAZMINE JACKSON, played at Collin County CC a year ago.
St. Edward's also added three freshmen to the roster –
CHARLI BECKER (Kerrville Tivy HS),
PARIS BRINKLEY (Burnet HS) and
CATHERINE KAISER (Kerrville Tivy HS).

Senior guard
MARYAM WILCHER returns for her second season with the Hilltoppers after earning All-Heartland honors last year. The Chicago native averaged 11.8 points and 4.0 rebounds last season while earning third-team laurels.
HILLTOPPERS PICKED NINTH IN PRESEASON LSC POLL
In its first season in the Lone Star Conference, St. Edward's was picked to finish ninth overall in the preseason poll. The Hilltoppers received 448 points in the poll to be selected in the middle of the 18-team league.
