SAN ANTONIO – The St. Edward's men's tennis team had its nine-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday, as No. 16 Hawai'i Pacific handed the Hilltoppers a 4-0 loss.
The Sharks (10-1) captured their fourth consecutive win to close out their trip to the Lone Star state.
HPU won the doubles point after earning victories at the top two spots.
CHASE BARTLETT suffered a 6-1, 6-4 setback at No. 3 singles and St. Edward's (10-4) fell behind 2-0 in the match.
The fifth singles flight went the distance with Jonatan Lundahl collecting a 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 victory over
MATEUS DE COL to put the Sharks up 3-0.
Benjamin Loccisano then outlasted
LUIS DIAZ at the second spot (2-6, 6-2, 6-3) to clinch the contest.
The Hilltoppers will continue their road trip with a stop in Montgomery, Ala., Thursday-Friday, March 21-22, to play Alabama-Huntsville and Auburn-Montgomery.
