ST. EDWARD'S SWEEPS COLORADO MESA, 7-0

WICHITA FALLS – St. Edward's continued its winning ways on Thursday afternoon with a 7-0 victory over Colorado Mesa.

The Hilltoppers (8-3), who have won seven consecutive matches, won all three doubles matchups to claim the early point. The squad then swept all six singles tilts in straight sets.

GABRIEL ZUNIGA clinched the contest at the third singles spot with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Moises Cure.

"We accomplished what we came here to do, which was to get two wins," St. Edward's head coach Estevam Strecker said. "We continue to develop our team confidence and the return of CHASE BARTLETT to the lineup has definitely raise our energy. We are better today than we were a month ago."

Bartlett teamed up with ANISH SRINIKETH at the top doubles flight to earn a 6-1 victory. It marked the pairings first match as a duo.

Meanwhile, Sriniketh won his ninth straight singles tilt after posting a 6-4, 6-4 win against Max Lindqvist.

LUIS DIAZ improved to 5-2 at the second singles spot, thanks to a 6-4, 6-2 decision versus Alain De La Bastide.

LOGAN BUIGNET (No. 4), NICO MERCADO (No. 5) and CHASE MOREHOUSE (No. 6) also won their singles matchups in straight sets.

The Hilltoppers will return to Austin to host Southeastern Oklahoma State on Saturday, March 9. The non-conference match is scheduled for an 11 a.m. first serve at Austin Tennis Academy.
