Former Hilltoppers continue soccer careers in professional leagues

AUSTIN – A pair of former St. Edward's men's soccer standouts are making waves in professional leagues this season. ANDREW FOX (2011-14) was signed by El Paso Locomotive FC of the USL Championship in February, while Josh Taylor (2013-16) joined Maidstone United of the English National League on loan from Sutton United in January.

Fox, who was a two-time All-American on the hilltop, has seen action in four of the five matches with his new club since the season started in March. The former Hilltopper also has been called on for three starts. Fox ranks second on the team in clearances and interceptions, while he also has won four of five tackles and nine aerial duels this season.

Fox will make his return to Austin on Sunday, April 21, as El Paso Locomotive FC takes on Austin Bold FC. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. at Bold Stadium, which is located adjacent to the Grand Plaza at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin.

Meanwhile, Taylor, who was a 2015 All-American for St. Edward's, has appeared in each of the last seven contests for Maidstone United. He also competes for the England national football C team. He played the full 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw against Wales on March 19. Taylor has made 67 total appearances for Sutton United and scored four goals.
