AUSTIN – The 16th-ranked St. Edward's women's tennis team posted two victories to open the dual-match season Friday at the Austin Tennis Academy. The Hilltoppers opened the campaign with a 7-0 victory over Concordia Texas and added a 5-2 triumph against Southwestern in the nightcap.
MATCH ONE NOTES
• The Hilltoppers swept all three doubles flights.
• St. Edward's won all six singles matchups in straight sets.
• In her SEU debut,
HANNAH HARROD teamed up with
LARA SCHMID for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, and Harrod won at the top singles flight, 6-0 and 6-1.
MATCH TWO NOTES
• SEU won all three doubles tilts to claim the opening point.
• The Hilltoppers won four of the six singles contests, dropping the first and sixth lines.

CAMILA BAEZA was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at the second flight in singles competition.
•
LARA SCHMID dropped the second set at No. 3 singles, but won the tiebreaker, 10-3, to take the matchup.
UP NEXT
St. Edward's will travel to San Antonio next Saturday to face off with Trinity. The contest will begin at 10 a.m.
