SAN ANGELO – No. 16 St. Edward's was forced to battle back from a deficit, winning five consecutive singles matches to defeat Northeastern State, 5-2.

St. Edward's fell behind early, dropping two of three doubles matches to start out down 1-0.
KATE MALAZONIA and
KYLEE SHANNON were the only duo to secure a win in doubles, defeating Emma Warnock and Chiapas Carnelutti 6-0 at the third spot.

The Hilltoppers picked up the pace as singles play got underway.
LARA SCHMID made quick work of Vera Carvalho, 6-1, 6-1, which was followed by
LOLI PERIM taking down Melissa Vera, 6-2, 6-2. On the third line,
HANNAH HARROD defeated Betka Gombarova, 6-1, 6-4, and to secure the victory for SEU was Shannon on court 6, defeating Chloe Certain, 6-2, 7-6.
CAMILA BAEZA won the the tie breaker to secure her matchup against Kristela Vidnere and Malazonia narrowly fell in a tie breaker at #1 singles.

St. Edward's continued its unbeaten streak to improve to 6-0 on the season. The Hilltoppers head to San Antonio for a conference matchup against St. Mary's on Saturday, Mar. 7. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
