CANYON, Texas – St. Edward's women's basketball had their fourth game in just five days, falling 72-38 to #15 West Texas A&M Tuesday evening.
SEU was held to single digits in the first two quarters and trailed 34-15 at the break.
LAUREN CATHERMAN's three to open the third quarter started the Hilltoppers off on the right foot, but WT quickly responded to extend their lead to 24, 43-19, halfway through the frame.
The deficit proved to be too much to overcome as St. Edward's ran out of steam down the stretch.
SEU was held to 25 percent from the floor, 11.1 percent from three-point range, and was led by
JAZMINE JACKSON who was the lone Hilltopper in double-figures with 11 points.
CHRISTINA MASON chipped in nine and Catherman seven.
With the loss, St. Edward's falls to 3-7 on the year and 3-7 in Lone Star Conference play. They have a well-deserved weekend off before returning to action on Thursday, February 4 as they host Texas A&M-Kingsville at 5 pm.
