Women’s soccer downs Lubbock Christian 1-0

LUBBOCK, Texas – St. Edward's women's soccer went on the road to Lubbock Christian and came home with a crucial 1-0 win over the Chaps Saturday afternoon.

KATIE GAY, assisted by CAITLYN GONZALEZ, scored the game-winner in the 23rd minute and the Hilltopper defense took care of the rest to close out the win.

SEU wasted no time going on the attack in the match, firing off four shots in the opening 20 minutes. A lofting corner kick from Gonzalez found Gay who buried the ball in the back of the net to put the Hilltoppers up 1-0.

LCU only managed one shot in the remainder of the half as the advantage remained the Hilltoppers' at the half.
