Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas – St. Edward's took a commanding lead in the first half and never allowed the Rams a chance to get back in the game, posting a 75-59 win over #18 Angelo State Saturday afternoon.
After a back and forth start, SEU went up by six points, 10-4, on an emphatic dunk by
UCHE DIBIAMAKA, igniting the Hilltopper offense. With seven minutes to go in the half, St. Edward's was up by 15, 28-13.
ASU clawed back to within 12, but Dibiamaka once again had the spark with a three to set SEU on an 8-2 run to close the half, sending the Hilltoppers into the locker room with an 18 point advantage, 40-22.
The Rams attempted to climb back into the game, but were only able to get as close as 12 points again, 46-34, with 15:18 remaining. This time, it was
DANIEL VENZANT that was the catalyst with a steal and score. St. Edward's eventually went up by 20, 66-46, with just over seven minutes to play, spelling impending doom for Angelo State.
St. Edward's shot 40.6 percent from the floor and just 17.6 percent from three point range, getting 36 points in the paint. Venzant led with 23 points, going 6-12 from the field and 11-12 from the free throw line with a team high four steals. Dibiamaka added 15 points and

LOGAN COOK continues to dominate the boards, grabbing 11 rebounds, while Venzant posted five rebounds.
The Hilltoppers improve to 6-3 on the year while ASU drops to 7-3 on the year. SEU returns to action on Thursday, December 16, hosting Texas A&M International at 7:30 pm.
