AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's men's basketball took their final regular season game of the year, defeating UAFS 88-75 Saturday.
SEAN PHILLIPS had a career-night, posting 25 points on 8-12 shooting from the floor and 6-10 from three-point range.
DANIEL VENZANT added 22 points while the Hilltoppers shot 58.9% from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.
UAFS may have scored first but the Hilltoppers had complete control, leading by as many as 15 in late in the first half. By the halftime buzzer, SEU had a ten point advantage, 44-34.
The St. Edward's lead dipped below double digits only briefly in the second half as SEU secured the win.
JAKE KRAFKA added ten points with
B.J. MAXWELL adding nine and a team high five rebounds. SEU committed just six turnovers with 18 assists and 11 steals.
St. Edward's ends the regular season with a 10-7 overall mark, 10-7 in Lone Star Conference play.
