AUSTIN – The St. Edward's softball offense was held relatively quiet on Sunday, dropping a pair of games at Texas A&M International 2-0 and 9-1.
GAME 1: SEU 0 – TAMIU 2
Two runs in the third inning was all the Dust Devils needed in game one. St. Edward's was not able to string together their three hits in the contest to push any runs across the plate.
Starting pitcher
MCKENNA LEAMON allowed just four hits in the game but suffered the loss in the circle.
LAUREN JARESH entered in relief and didn't allow a hit in her three innings of work.
MORGAN ARCIA,
KAYLEE MCQUILLAN and
CHARLOTTE NUCCIO all recorded one hit.
GAME 2: SEU 1 – TAMIU 9
Texas A&M International took the momentum right into game two as the Hilltoppers allowed four runs in the first inning and five in the second. SEU pushed one across in the fifth but could not build any further to suffer the loss.
Nuccio led at the plate, going 2-2 while McQuillan and Arcia added one hit each.
CADIE BELLE CURRIE suffered the loss in the circle, fiving up nine runs, three earned, on six hits with two walks.
The Hilltoppers drop to 3-5 on the year and 0-4 in Lone Star Conference play. They come home for the first time this season, hosting Texas Woman's on Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 pm.
