AUSTIN – The St. Edward's Hilltoppers men's basketball team announces the release of its 2022-23 schedule, with season tickets now available for purchase at GoHilltoppers.com.
Men's basketball hosts 15 home games this year, with season tickets starting at $100 for Sections 2 and 4 and padded seating available for $120. The Hilltoppers' season kicks off in Grand Junction, Colo., on Nov. 11 and 12 with games against Colorado Mesa and Colorado Christian.
St. Edward's welcomes Arlington Baptist to the Recreation and Athletics Center on Tuesday, Nov. 15, for the Hilltoppers' home opener to start a six-game homestand. The Hilltoppers host a pair of games against the University of St. Francis (Ill.) from the NAIA on Nov. 17 and 19, followed by a game against NCAA Division III's Southwestern University on Nov. 22, and Lone Star Conference opponents Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico on Dec. 1 and 3.
The Hilltoppers stay in conference for road games against Midwestern State (Dec. 10) and Cameron University (Dec. 12).
Men's basketball will escape the winter cold to compete in the Hoops in Hawai'i Holiday Classic hosted by Chaminade University in Honolulu. The Hilltoppers play Chaminade on Dec. 17, followed by games against Simon Fraser (Dec. 18) and Emmanuel College (Dec. 19).
The Hilltoppers close 2022 with a home game against Texas A&M International on Dec. 30 and open 2023 at home against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Jan. 1.
Next, St. Edward's has a four-game road trip, facing UT-Tyler on Jan. 5, Dallas Baptist on Jan. 7, Oklahoma Christian on Jan. 12, and Arkansas Fort Smith on Jan. 14. St. Edward's plays UT Permian Basin and Angelo State at home on Jan. 19 and Jan. 21, followed by road games against Texas A&M Kingsville and Texas A&M International on Jan. 26 and 28.
St. Edward's hosts St. Mary's in the Battle of the Saints on Jan. 31 to open the final homestand of the season with games against Dallas Baptist (Feb. 2), Texas-Tyler (Feb. 4), Arkansas Fort Smith (Feb. 9), and Senior Day against Oklahoma Christian (Feb. 11).
The Hilltoppers end the regular season on the road with games against Lubbock Christian (Feb. 16), West Texas A&M (Feb. 18), and St. Mary's (Feb. 23). The Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament opens on Mar. 2 in Frisco, Texas.
