AUSTIN, Texas - The St. Edward's softball team won game one 1-0 and lost game two 3-2 against Eastern New Mexico.

Game One: SEU 1, ENMU 0

After a scoreless first, the Hilltoppers scored the game's only run in the bottom of the second. Lauren Hoyt slapped an RBI single to give the Hilltoppers a 1-0 lead.

One run was all starting pitcher McKenna Leamon needed as she was lethal in the circle. Leamon pitched a complete game shutout allowing just two hits while striking out eight batters to earn her seventh win of the season.Â

Game Two: ENM 3, SEU 2

The Greyhounds got off to a fast start putting up a run in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead. An error allowed the Greyhounds to take the early lead.Â

After a scoreless second, the Greyhounds scored an unearned run to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the third. However, in the bottom of the third, Valerie Brant delivered a two-run single to tie the game at 2-2.Â

In the top of the sixth, the Greyhounds took the lead 3-2 on an RBI single.

Cadie Currie pitched five-plus innings giving up one earned run on six hits while striking out four in the loss.Â

SEU is back in action Friday as they travel to Western New Mexico for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.Â
