TYLER, Texas - It took eleven innings, but the Rattlers finally defeated the Hilltoppers 1-0 in game one of the LSC Championship Tournament.
Both pitching staffs controlled the game and limited baserunners all afternoon in this tightly contested matchup.
Cadie Belle Currie went above and beyond for the Hilltoppers as she pitched ten innings, giving up nine hits and no runs while striking out five batters and walking none. McKenna Leamon came in for relief in the eleventh and gave up a walk-off solo home run to end the game.
Megan Morris and Kathryn Connelly recorded the Hilltoppers two hits in the loss.
The Hilltoppers finished the season 18-27.
