SAN ANTONIO – St. Edward's men's soccer scored a late equalizer and generated multiple other opportunities in a 1-1 draw against the No. 24-ranked St. Mary's Rattlers. 
 
The Hilltoppers were sharp through the first half, building through the back and utilizing one-touch passes to get into the attacking third. The attacks stalled out, however, and the Rattlers countered with a 4-2 advantage in shots attempted and a 4-1 edge in corner kicks before the break. 
 
St. Mary's scored out of a set piece from a free kick on a yellow card draw by TODD FULLER. Gael Gallegos played the ball into the box, and Bradley Greene headed the ball into the back of the net with velocity for the goal at the 61-minute mark. 
 
St. Edward's built towards multiple other opportunities and finally capitalized on a goal out a set-piece throw-in nearly 75 minutes in. HUNTER MERRITT triggered the play with the long throw-in, IRVIN ABARCA deflected it, and Donovan Eerkes-McCarhty headed it in for the equalizer. 
 
St. Edward's is now 0-7-5 with an 0-2-3 conference record. The Hilltoppers will host Texas A&M International on Saturday.
