The Lone Star Conference announced its final Baseball Player of the Week awards of the season, naming St. Edward's freshman JARED SCHAEFFER the Pitcher of the Week. 

Schaeffer (4-2) struck out seven in six innings in St. Edward's shutout victory over Texas A&M International on Sunday, helping the Hilltoppers clinch the second seed in the upcoming LSC Tournament. Schaeffer struck out the side in the second inning and retired the side in order in the first, fifth, and sixth innings with no walks and five hits surrendered. 

Schaeffer has 35 strikeouts in 46.2 innings for the season with a 3.28 ERA and a .270 opponent batting average.
