KINGSVILLE, Texas – St. Edward's volleyball lost its penultimate match of the season, falling in three sets to the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas.
Texas A&M-Kingsville led from start to finish in the opening set, aided by seven attack errors and five service errors from the Hilltoppers in a 25-16 win. Ayanna Jackson led a balanced attack with three kills, and the Javelinas hit .360 in the set. Kayblen Lembcke and
KELLI FORDING each had three kills for St. Edward's.
The Hilltopper attack faltered in the second set with a negative hitting percentage. Texas A&M-Kingsville had four aces, and Rylan Pollard had three kills in the 25-10 win.
St. Edward's found some offensive punch in the third set. Lembcke had four kills, and
ADDY BADLEY and
CARRINGTON JAIMES had three. However, the Hilltoppers also committed four service aces in the 25-20 loss.
Lembcke and Fording led St. Edward's with six kills each.
ALTHEA MORRIS had 24 assists and eight digs.
CORA YOUNG contributed three block assists and two solo blocks with four kills.
St. Edward's falls to 10-16. The Hilltoppers will end the season on Saturday against St. Mary's and celebrate
JAZZY WILLIAMS for Senior Day.
