Sebastian Koran Advances to 800 Finals For Second Consecutive Year on Day 2 of the LSC Championships

SAN ANGELO, Texas – SEBASTIAN KORAN advanced to the Lone Star Conference Championships 800-meter Finals for a second consecutive year to lead St. Edward's men's track & field on the second day of the conference meet. 
 
Koran clocked a time of 1:55.18 to place seventh in the preliminaries, with the top eight runners advancing. WILLIE ODEM and NICHOLAS GONZALEZ also competed in the event, finishing 21st and 22nd at 2:02.70 and 2:03.49, respectively. 
 
JORDON CHAPPELL paced St. Edward's two sprinters in the 400-meter dash preliminaries, placing 14th with a time of 49.29. TYRIQ WILSON followed four spots later in 18th at 49.83. The top eight finishers advanced to the Finals. 
 
St. Edward's will wrap up the LSC Championships on Saturday. ANGEL QUINTERO, DRE MOORE, Wilson, and Chappell open the day in the modern program's first conference 4x100-meter relays at 5:30 p.m. Koran runs in the 800-meter finals at 6:45 p.m., followed by IVAN GUZMAN and OMAR GUZMAN in the 5K at 7:25 p.m. The day ends with the 4x400-meter relay run by MARCUS AGUINALDO, CLAUDIO TREVINO, Chappell, and Wilson.
