AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's volleyball fell in straight sets to Texas Woman's (25–17, 25–17, 25–18) on Friday night at the Recreation and Athletic Center.
The Pioneers (12–6, 5–2 LSC) controlled the match with an efficient attack, hitting .302 as a team while holding the Hilltoppers (5–8, 2–6 LSC) to a .137 clip.
KELLI FORDING led St. Edward's with 15 kills and two block assists, while
CARRINGTON JAIMES added 10 kills and two block assists.
ALTHEA MORRIS paced the offense with 34 assists and chipped in nine digs. Defensively,
GISELLE OJEDA anchored the back row with 16 digs, and Katherine Neille provided a spark off the bench with five of her nine kills in the second set.
The Hilltoppers started strong in each frame but couldn't sustain momentum against TWU's balanced front line, which recorded 14 total blocks and limited SEU's side-out percentage to under 50% in every set.
St. Edward's returns to action on Saturday, hosting DBU to close the weekend slate. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at the RAC.
