PORTALES, N.M. — St. Edward's closed its road trip with a commanding sweep of Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, defeating the Greyhounds 25-18, 25-18, 25-13 at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.
Sophomore
MIA CLAY led the Hilltoppers with 11 kills on a .333 hitting percentage, while
ADDY BADLEY and
CARRINGTON JAIMES added nine kills each on .571 and .615 hitting, respectively..
ALTHEA MORRIS paced the offense with 32 assists, and libero
GISELLE OJEDA anchored the defense with 12 digs and a .1000 reception percentage.
The Hilltoppers (9-11, 6-9 Lone Star Conference) hit .370 as a team and tallied eight total blocks, led by Badley's four block assists.
GRACE MCDONALD and
MIA CLAY added three apiece. St. Edward's controlled the match from start to finish, building early leads in each set and closing with a .538 hitting percentage in the final frame.
Eastern New Mexico (4-23, 1-14) was held to a .060 attack percentage and managed just six team blocks.
St. Edward's returns home to wrap up the regular season, hosting LOVB Volleyball Night on Friday, November 14, at 6:00 p.m., and Senior Day against Western New Mexico on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
