The Lone Star Conference 2025 STUNT Athletes to Watch, Listing St. Edward's
KENNEDY JOHNSON,
DANICA MORNINGSTAR, and
ELENA LA ROSA among the 14 conference players listed.
The athletes on the LSC preseason watch list are from each of the five teams sponsoring STUNT. Their institution nominated them, and they represent a variety of skills, including flyer, tumbler, base, and back spot.
St. Edward's is one of two new programs joining the LSC, along with Texas A&M-Kingsville. The two schools join Dallas Baptist University, St. Mary's, and Texas Woman's University. The Lone Star Conference STUNT schedule is a double round-robin format with teams competing twice against each other. The first competitions counting toward the LSC standings are scheduled for February 7.
Results from the LSC regular season determine seeding for the conference championship tournament, scheduled for March 28-29 and hosted by the No. 1 seeded team. DBU is the defending LSC champion, having won the inaugural title in 2024.
Competition throughout the season determines team qualification for the postseason College STUNT Association National Championship, scheduled for April 24-27 in Nashville, Tenn., at a site to be determined. DBU and St. Mary's qualified for the 2024 Division II national championship, with DBU advancing to the quarterfinals of the double-elimination tournament.
All three NCAA divisions have approved STUNT as an emerging women's sport. As sport sponsorship increases across the NCAA membership, STUNT will progress toward achieving NCAA championship status.
