The Lone Star Conference announced its 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team, naming St. Edward's GAVINO RAMOS, LEWIS ROWE, and JAMISON KAY among the award-winners. SAM MCKINNEY earned All-Freshman honors.
Ramos led the Hilltoppers with 14.1 points and 4.5 assists per game. Ramos reached 1,000 career points this season, finishing second in the LSC in assists and assists per game, fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio, ninth in total points scored (437) and steals. The award is Ramos's second all-conference honor, earning Third Team last season.
Rowe, a classic back-to-the-basket center, led the team in scoring for much of the season before sustaining an injury late, finishing with averages of 12.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, shooting .554 percent from the field. He finished eighth in the conference in total blocks (25), second in field-goal percentage, and fifth in rebounds.
Kay is a versatile do-it-all forward who averaged 11.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He took on a more significant role while Rowe was out and scored in double figures in nine of St. Edward's final 11 games.
McKinney provided energy off the bench, averaging 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game. He reached double-figure scoring five times, scoring a season-high 14 points in 16 minutes against Washburn and hit 16 3–pointers this season.
St. Edward's posted a 20-11 season with a 14-8 conference record, winning nine of its past 11 games to clinch the fifth seed in the LSC Tournament. The Hilltoppers play St. Mary's for a third consecutive game on Friday.
