The Lone Star Conference revealed its 2025 Preseason Poll, voted on by conference head coaches, sports information directors, and media members, ranking St. Edward's volleyball No. 13 in the conference, with
ADDY BADLEY,
ALTHEA MORRIS, and
GISELLE OJEDA selected as players to watch.
St. Edward's posted a 10-17 record last season, with injuries decimating its liberos and defensive specialists over the second half of the season. The Hilltoppers return all but three members from last year, remaining a young roster with seven sophomores, five juniors, a senior, and two freshmen for head coach Jeremy Garcia's first season running the program.
The LSC listed senior middle and right-side hitter
ADDY BADLEY as St. Edward's offensive player to watch. Badley recorded 207 points last season, accumulating 178 kills on a .232 hitting percentage, with five aces, 40 block assists, and four solo blocks.
Morris is the Hilltoppers' setter to watch after earning All-LSC Honorable Mention and All-Freshman Team honors last season with 1,001 assists and 22 aces.
Ojeda, a libero/defensive specialist, played in 47 sets in an injury-shortened season, recording 137 digs on a team-high 2.91 per set and a .975 receiving percentage.
Defending LSC Tournament Champion and NCAA DII National Semifinalist Angelo State is predicted to win the conference, led by 2025 Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Madi Parrish. West Texas is voted second, led by Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, middle blocker Taytum Stow. Preseason Setter of the Year, Saige Rivera, leads the third-ranked UT Tyler.
Volleyball opens its season on Friday, September 5, at the Dallas Classic. The Hilltoppers' home opener is September 18 against UT Dallas, and conference play begins September 26, on the road at UT Permian Basin. The LSC Tournament is November 20-22, hosted by the top seed.
