AUSTIN, Texas – St. Edward's volleyball announced it will no longer be participating in this weekend's Reddie-Tiger Challenge, hosted by Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Head coach Jeremy Garcia cited injuries and health concerns for pulling out of the four September 12 and 13 matches against Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist, Auburn University Montgomery, and Mississippi College.
"The overall health and safety of our student-athletes is my first priority," Garcia says. "We'll regroup, prepare and be ready for our home opener against UT Dallas next week."
St. Edward's volleyball hosts UT Dallas and Cameron in the Lone Star Conference Challenge. The Hilltoppers play UT Dallas on September 18 and Cameron on September 20. Conference play begins on September 26 at UT Permian Basin.
